Iowa Truckers Want Standards for Biodiesel

DES MOINES, IOWA – Representatives from Iowa’s trucking industry has asked lawmakers to establish standards for biodiesel after severe quality problems occurred in other states, according to the Web site According to the president of the Iowa Motor Truck Association, there were problems with the glycerin levels in biodiesel when it was first sold in Minnesota.Iowa State Senator David Johnson is introducing a bill that would set standards for biodiesel fuel sold in Iowa. According to the report, Iowa truckers intend to test biodiesel this summer to get biodiesel approved for use in semi-truck engines, and Iowa trucking firms are volunteering to be part of that testing.
