ATA to Keep Pushing Engine Fight Beyond October

ATA President William J. Canary announced in an Aug. 17 interview that American Trucking Associations would keep fighting the Oct. 1 federal deadline for new trucks to use reduced-emissions diesel engines. The White House Office of Management and Budget recently rejected industry calls to delay the Oct. 1 deadline for tougher emissions rules, and trucking officials, as well as some manufacturers, have vowed to try to keep fighting the deadline in the courts and in legislation.
