Vehicle Tracking Solutions Continues Expansion, Adds Two New Franchise Locations

DEER PARK, NY – Vehicle Tracking Solutions (VTS) has opened two franchised locations in St. Paul, Minn. and Albuquerque, N.M. Vehicle Tracking Solutions currently has locations in nine major markets across the U.S.

The St. Paul franchise will be managed by Douglas Yaste, an experienced businessman with over 15 years of I.T. experience. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Yaste worked as an I.T. consultant for companies such as 3M, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, and Medtronic. After 15 years in the information technology field, Yaste was ready to apply his technical skills to another business.

"I was interested in selling technology, specifically GPS technology," stated Yaste. "I wanted to do something different than I.T., but wanted to use my technical background in my next venture. I also wanted to continue owning my own business." When he came across the VTS Franchise Program, he saw great promise.

"When I spoke with Ed Teixeira, VTS COO, he was responsive, helpful, honest, and flexible. I saw that VTS has tremendous potential for growth, especially in the Midwest market. They own their own software product, allowing for customization and integration, which will help VTS grow their business in the future. The company also offers immense support to its customers as well as its franchise network."

The Albuquerque franchise will be managed by Mike Henderson, an experienced businessman with over 20 years of experience in the New Mexico market. Prior to joining VTS, Henderson worked in the transportation planning sector and worked closely with numerous public agencies and private organizations in project development. He has provided a wide array of technical studies for transportation projects throughout New Mexico and neighboring states.

For over a year, Henderson was looking to expand and diversify his existing business when found Vehicle Tracking Solutions. "When I first saw VTS' Silent Passenger fleet management application, I was extremely impressed," stated Henderson. "The system incredibly easy to use, yet it provides business owners and managers with so much useful and time-sensitive information that is critical to their daily operations. I recognized immediately what tremendous value VTS could bring to businesses with vehicle fleets."

While reviewing other options to grow his existing business, Henderson was impressed with the VTS organization and the highly skilled, energetic and motivated staff. VTS retains full time software developers who are continuously adding new features to Silent Passenger. The company has a top-notch technical support team and a well-structured franchise program which provides new franchisees with all the tools they need to ensure their business is a success.

As the only company in the AVL industry to offer franchise opportunities, VTS has embarked on a strategic expansion initiative to provide its dynamic and in-demand GPS fleet management technology to growing markets across the U.S. With VTS technology, customers have saved an average of 11-13 percent on fuel costs, have minimized overtime costs and lowered insurance premiums, and have improved service or delivery efficiencies - all factors that result in a fast return on investment.

While I'm a distance from being called an academic, I've always felt that education is the road to professionalism; and that professionalism leads to increased compensation. There are many variables, but my recent re-review of the salary surveys that we conduct raises some interesting questions.

Goldman Sachs was the first to forecast a $100-plus-per-barrel crude oil price when the bank issued a research report last November, which called for a $110-per-barrel average price for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude in 2011. Morgan Stanley released a similar report in January and targets $95-per-barrel of WTI futures by December 2010, with an average price of $100 per barrel in 2011.
