NORTHBROOK, IL – For the second year in a row, Donlen Corporation has been recognized by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) as one of the "101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For" in Chicago. With more than 4,000 applicants this year, the program is based on an independent evaluation of each company's entry in nine categories: communication, community initiatives, compensation and benefits, diversity and multiculturalism, employee education and development, employee engagement and commitment, recognition and rewards, recruitment and selection, and work-life balance.

Donlen CEO Gary Rappeport said the recognition reflects the positive culture of the organization, and the continuing progress that has been made toward improving the work environment and resulting employee satisfaction.

"We believe that employee satisfaction is a key driver of customer satisfaction and have made this a priority at Donlen," Rappeport said. "Through their dedication, industry knowledge, and positive attitudes, Donlen's people are a tremendous resource for our clients."

NABR President Jennifer Kluge said the companies selected represent standards of excellence. "These companies have a real commitment and dedication to their employees. The best practices and innovative human resource initiatives that were demonstrated should inspire others to look for new ways to recognize employees as their greatest assets."

Migration to 4-Cylinder Engines Continues with 2010-MY Ordering

By Mike Antich
The ongoing volatility of gasoline prices has prompted a growing number of fleets to transition to four-cylinder engines. This transition started in the 2008-MY and accelerated with 2009-MY ordering, when gas prices surpassed $4 per gallon in the summer of 2008. Early indications are that the migration to four-cylinder engines will continue with 2010-MY ordering. We have already seen glimpses of this trend in the 2010 RFPs submitted to major OEMs.
