Terex Telelect Recalls XT60 Aerial Devices on Trucks

WASHINGTON - Terex Telelect Inc. is recalling more than 1,600 MY 1998-2009 XT60 aerial devices mounted on trucks. These devices are used to elevate people into work areas up to 60 feet in the air.

Cracks can develop around the lower boom hinge pin boss at the turntable, which can potentially result in failure of the plates if the problem goes undetected, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Failure of the plates can cause unexpected motion of the boom and could cause the platform to fall. This poses a major safety hazard.

Terex will notify owners and repair the vehicles free of charge. The safety recall begins this month.

Owners can contact Terex Utilities Warranty Department at (605) 884-3892.
