'Operation Safe Driver' Seeks to Educate

Roadside Inspector Competition Set for Aug. 17

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Whether they're identifying a faulty brake system or finding a driver operating beyond the hours of service, commercial motor vehicle (CMV) inspectors work to make our roads safer. This year, 44 of the best roadside inspectors from across North America will compete in Pittsburgh at the annual North American Inspectors Championship (NAIC) Aug. 17-23.

'Roadcheck 2009' Finds Better Safety Compliance

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) said its Roadcheck 2009's record total of overall inspections and Level I inspections showed significant declines in vehicle and driver out-of-service rates, as well as a significant drop in safety belt violations.
