The following is an article that appeared in the May 1982 issue of Automotive Fleet.
AFLA's 24th Annual Meeting and Conference, held at the Hilton International Hotel, was attended by 225 fleet industry representatives.
"Safety - Survival - Quality - Communication and You" was the theme of this year's meeting and conference. These issues were addressed during several panel discussions and speeches, including a presentation given by keynote speaker Mike Durrie, co-director of General Motors Fleet Sales & Redistribution Department.
Also during the convention, new AFLA officers were inducted. Outgoing President Jay Campbell-McFeeters, previously with LMV Leasing, passed the gavel to the new president, Michael Flanagan, a regional vice president with United States Fleet Leasing. Milo Matick, vice president of Al Piemonte Fleet, became the association's executive vice president; and James McNully, national fleet manager for Five Star Fleet, became vice president.
